Discovery Grant Recipient
Project Lead:
D.I.Y. 3D Clay Printing

Tom Lauerman is an artist whose constant tinkering with experimental digital fabrication tools, ceramic kilns, and design software informs his teaching and studio work. Recent collaborations with faculty and students in Engineering, Material Science, Architecture, and Art Education have aided in Tom’s development of a unique set of tools for 3D printing clay. Like an academic tumbleweed, Tom finds himself meandering between the areas of New Media, Ceramics, Sculpture, and Foundations, teaching a wide range of courses.
