This is an opportunity for two grant programs. For the Life Science one, PIs should be from A & A and life scientists in any College. For the Social/Behavioral Science CFP, PIs should be from A & A and SSRI faculty members.

Joint projects in Arts, Humanities, and Social and Behavioral Sciences

Summary: We seek proposals for joint projects integrating work in the Arts and Design, and/or the Humanities, with Social and Behavioral Sciences. This program provides financial support to encourage interdisciplinary research and collaborative work by Penn State faculty members linking the Social Sciences with Art and Design, or the Social Sciences with Humanities, or linking all three. We encourage creative and innovative proposals in this space, as well as proposals that outline feasible projects that can be accomplished within 1-2 years to do preliminary work on a concept, model, idea, or so on before pursuing targeted external funding.

Joint projects in Life/Medical Sciences, Arts, and Humanities

Summary: We seek proposals for joint interdisciplinary and collaborative projects by Penn State faculty members integrating work in the Life or Medical Sciences with the Arts and/or Humanities. The ideal investigators would serve as catalysts who would be working together to explore the interconnection between arts/humanities and life sciences and potential real-life applications. We encourage creative and innovative proposals in this space, as well as proposals that outline feasible projects that can be accomplished within 1-2 years to do preliminary work on a concept, model, idea, or so on before pursuing targeted external funding.
