Flagship Project: New Student Orientation

Each year, thousands of soon-to-be Penn State students attend New Student Orientation, a process of onboarding where they participate in conversations with peers and develop an understanding of the university’s values. However, universities nationwide have found that presentations on common issues — such as alcohol abuse and sexual harassment — don’t always stick with students. This student-written, C-PAD produced musical theater production, provides every new Penn State student an engagement in the arts to teach powerful lessons before they even arrive on campus for Fall classes.

In collaboration with New Student Orientation and Student Affairs, C-PAD has expanding this project to provide over 45 presentations of Results Will Vary* over the 10-week period of new student orientation. This project employs 12 School of Theater students and Austin Ayers, Assistant Professor, in summer employment for the duration of New Student Orientation.
